ESSENTIALS OF THE FAITH

Six messages on the most important things Christians believe

WHAT WE MEAN BY "GOD"

In this new series, we look at six essentials of the Christian faith. This first message begins by setting the stage for the series and explaining what the six essentials are. The rest of the message focuses on what Christians mean by the word “God,” and how our use of that word is uniquely Christian.

GOOD AND EVIL IN THE HUMAN HEART

Why are humans capable of tremendous goodness and beauty but also such terrible evil and ugliness? The Christian faith attributes this to the presence of sin in the lives of humans.

THE RESURRECTION MATTERS

This Easter sermon reflects on the significance of the resurrection.

LIVING BY THE SPIRIT

In this fourth message of the series, we look at the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Beginning with Acts 2, we look at how the Spirit lives in the followers of Jesus.

PEOPLE ON A MISSION

What does the church believe about . . . the church? In this message, we see that the church is the body of people who join God in his mission to bring blessing to the world. First, we explore the mission of God in Scripture. Then we look at the nature of the church as a community of people, and then we look at the mission of the church as being a continuation of God’s mission.

ALREADY BUT NOT YET

This final message of the series looks at what Christians believe about the culmination of history, how it has already begun in the resurrection of Jesus, and how it shapes the way Christians live in the time between his ascension and his return.
