MESSAGES FROM THE HOLY LAND

In 2017, our minister participated in an archaeological dig at Bet Shemesh, Israel. While he was there, he filmed a few videos at different sites around the country. Two of these messages were recorded.

THE GLORY OF GOD

The Western Wall, Jerusalem

Modern Jews pray at the Western Wall because they believe a kind of “residual glory” of God resides on the Temple Mount. The glory of God, which he amasses for himself through his powerful defeat of Pharaoh and his compassion for the helpless, lives in the tabernacle and later the temple. When the glory leaves the temple, it does not return. But when Jesus arrives on the scene, the gospel writers begin to talk about the return of God’s glory to the world.

CHURCH OF THE NATIVITY

Bethlehem

In Bethlehem, Palestine, stands the Church of the Nativity, which commemorates the most probable site of Jesus’ birth. This message reflects on the historical reality of Jesus’ birth, as well as the implications of his incarnation.

The audio quality of this sermon is quite poor at times, and for these few moments we apologize. Also, there will be a moment in the sermon when Parker shows a video. When you reach this point of the sermon, simply pause the audio recording and watch the video below, then resume the audio. Parker also refers to various pictures and floorpans, which are also available below.
